Report: Construction of Nord Stream-2 to restart next week

MOSCOW, Feb 12 (PRIME) -- Construction of the Nord Stream-2 natural gas pipeline, which was suspended earlier because of a storm, will restart next week, German magazine Spiegel reported on Friday.

“The weather conditions will only suspend the Nord Stream-2 a little, works will be resumed already next week. The consortium is firmly focused on finishing the multi-billion project,” Spiegel reported.

The Nord Stream-2 project envisages construction of two lines of a natural gas pipeline with an annual capacity of up to 55 billion cubic meters, running from the Russian shore to Germany under the Baltic Sea. Russian gas giant Gazprom is implementing the project together with Germany’s Unper and Wintershall, Royal Dutch Shell, Austria’s OMV, and France’s Engie.
